IL&FS is a National Level consultant firm has opinion about the textile industry as follows,
Metro Hi-Tech Co-Operative Textile Park, R.M Mohite, Raymond’s and Bombay Rayon Fashions Ltd. Etc. plans to put up huge manufacturing facilities in and around Ichalkaranji. There is requirement of 3600 weavers on shuttle less looms, 10000 Garment operators, 750 Knitting operators, 3500 computer and IT operators and 5000 trained Garment operators at BRFL and 1500 skilled trainees in Press and Packing Makers, Folders, Menders, Quality supervisors etc. at Metro Park, Vardhaman Ploytex Ltd., R.M Mohite Textiles at 5 star MIDC and other mills like Raymond, R. M. Mohite etc.

Kolhapur is becoming a textile hub.
There are 10-12, 100% export oriented textile and garment units near Kolhapur-Kagal MIDC Ichalkaranji like Metro, BRFL, Raymonds, Arvind, Indocount, R.M. Mohite Textiles etc.

The upcoming Textile and Garment Industries require large numbers of well trained staff.

In the villages of nearby talukas of Kolhapur like Kagal, Hatkanangle, Shirol, Gadhinglaj, Panhala and Karveer there are nearly 50,000 BPL families are untrained, unemployed and economically backward.

Maruti Training centers will work as Employment Generating Unit.
